Missions Program
A variety of programs are sponsored through the generosity of St. Mark's parishioners. There is a need that fits everyone's Time, Talent, and Treasures capability whether it is serving food, building homes, or providing education assistance funds.
We sponsor Mission Trips to Hour Mother's House in New York City where teens and adults provide love, nurturing, and care to babies whose mother’s have been incarcerated.
Our most significant undertaking is with Casa de la Cruz Mission in Anapra, Mexico. St. Mark's educational assistance provides scholarships for an average of 43 elementary through university level students. Each student is provided with tuition, supplies and uniforms to continue their education. Our second most important program is the food assistance program, otherwise known as a “Despensa” which serves 65 families. We also provide financial support to the local dental and medical clinic. And with the help of St. Mark's and other U.S. mission groups, 4 homes were being constructed each year by mission volunteers. However, due to the violence in Mexico, the construction ministry has postponed all building until further notice.
The Blue Envelope in your monthly parish packet assists the mission in providing these much needed programs to the people of Anapra. Your continued support of our Mission program is greatly appreciated.
