Justice Walking
Justice Walking is an experiment in Gospel Living. At the beginning of Jesus’
public ministry, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and proclaimed this
scripture passage from the prophet Isaiah “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me
because God has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to proclaim liberty
to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,
and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord”. Small communities of adults and teens
together learn how to bring about the fulfillment of this Gospel passage for our world
today. Over the course of twelve weeks, justice walkers pray, reflect, dialogue and
apply Catholic social teachings to their daily lives. They strive to live a Gospel-based
life.
The Justice Walking ministry is open to teens age 15-18. For more information,
please contact the parish office at 816-373-2600.
