Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts is a youth program designed for young men from the age of 11 (or graduated from the 5th grade) up to the age of 18. The purpose
of the program is to help the young men develop themselves with a commitment to God, to others and to himself. It is a boy ran program
overseen by volunteer adults. One of the objectives of the programs is to develop leadership skills and expose the boys to a variety
subjects that may direct future hobbies and/or careers. Of these, camping is one of the primary emphasis areas. Boy Scouts meet once a
week for troop meetings/activities. Once a month we also have a weekend activity that usually includes camping. Each summer we also
attend a 10 day summer camp at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation next to Truman Lake.
