Diocese Processes for Rennovations
The Diocese understands the emotional connection of parishioners to their church homes, so to help navigate the options and decisions, some requirements and guiding principles exist. Highlights follow:
- Pastor establishes a building committee.
- Building Committee conducts a needs assessment and informs parish of findings.
- Pastor approaches Diocese for authorization to explore options.
- Diocese authorizes parish to start architectural planning.
- Parish engages architect and financial consultant to explore options, costs, and funding capabilities. These steps involve gathering input/sharing information.
- Parish presents findings to Diocese: best option, costs, funding plan.
- Bishop/Diocesan Building Commission gives approval to move forward.
- Once project is approved by the Diocese and funding is confirmed, final design & construction can proceed, within the parameters of diocesan policy.
